Practicing Therapeutic Massage since 2008
My professional services cater to a clientele with a range of needs from pain or stress relief to detoxification through lymphatic movement. I started my practice in Austin, TX at Lauterstein-Conway Massage School and worked with companies like Austin Community Wellness, Serenity Wellness, and Zero Gravity Institute. I am now serving the Denton, TX community.

Myofascial Deep Tissue
-Myofascial massage focuses on targeting deeper muscle layers and connective tissues, making it particularly effective for those recovering from injuries, managing chronic pain, or seeking relief from tension in key areas of the body. It uses less oil to allow friction to assist in the process of manipulating the tissues.
“She really listens to what has been bothering you and is not afraid to really work into the knots to get them out. But she also is more than happy to let up if/when you ask.”

Relaxing Swedish Massage
-Swedish massage is a full-body relaxing session done with medium or light pressure. It can be used with Deep Tissue work also to increase circulation and the lymph system. It is great to relax the nervous system in between deeper work. Some of it’s benefits include increased circulation, improved mood and energy, decreased stress, and improved sleep quality.
“Katy is thoughtful massage therapist with strong hands and a light touch.”

Prenatal Massage
-Prenatal Massage assists women with adapting to the changes in their structure and new physical demands. Aside from this focus, the prenatal massage is similar to other massage sessions, but a large pregnancy pillow is used. The pregnancy pillow is designed to allow women to rest comfortably face down without putting any pressure on their tummy.
“I received regular prenatal massage with her through both of my pregnancies and she helped me get through those uncomfortable last few months when I was experiencing some hip and lower back pain.”
Add-On Options

Manual Lymphatic Drainage
-MLD involves a light touch and gentle skin stretching that helps move built up lymph fluid to an area with working lymph vessels to allow for body detoxification. It assists with reduced swelling due to excess fluid from lymphedema. MLD assists with immune system support, reduces fluid retention, relieves neuropathy, and soothes the nervous system. It is especially effective if you’ve had surgery that removes lymph nodes or have scarring that blocks the flow of the lymphatic system. It can be incorporated in a regular session or done as a full body light session.

Hot Stone Massage
-Hot Stone Massage uses iron-rich volcanic Basalt Stones which retain and gradually release heat when they are moved across the skin to allow the client’s body to absorb the heat into their muscles. Larger stones are also placed for longer periods of time over a towel barrier to allow the heat to penetrate deeper into muscles. The combo of heat and gentle pressure helps with blood circulation, lymph drainage, and deep tension relief.
“Fantastic and relaxing massage. The stones are just warm enough to relax the muscle, and then Katy does her magic.”

Gua Sha and Cupping
-Tools are used to enhance the massage on specific trouble areas of discomfort.
-Cupping therapy uses silicon or rubber cups on your skin to create suction. The therapist may also move the cups across the skin as a form of myofascial massage. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
-The main idea for Gua Sha technique is to heal the body by intentionally producing micro-traumas in specific regions to bring heat to the area and alerts the body to focus healing in that area. It focuses on mobility and function of the body and removing the restrictions preventing the body from working optimally.
“Katy unlocked some relief with cupping I have never experienced.”
