
Myofascial Deep Tissue Massage does not have to use deep pressure to be effective. The purpose is to access deeper layers of muscle which doesn’t always require deep pressure.
Restricted fascia will not allow the muscle it encases to relax into proper function. Myofascial Release technique uses less oil or lotion to be able to use slow friction on the skin to stretch the connective tissues allowing the fascia to break up and relieve tension in the surrounding muscles.
A full session usually starts with a relaxing Swedish technique to loosen more superficial layers of muscle before getting into the deeper layers.
